“Man I just ended up on everybody guestlist
I’m just doing better than what everybody projected
Knew that I’d be here so if you asked me how I feel
I’mma just tell you, its everything that I expected…”
Although just 23 years of age, Detroit rhyme slinger Big Sean has had quite a lengthy career even though he had no official debut to his credit. As of June 28th, Big Sean can no longer claim that distinction as the G.O.O.D. Music signee dropped his debut album Finally Famous June 28th for the masses – and to abuse the pun early, finally.
Signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label – currently enjoying some good tidings as well – as a teenager, the handsome rapper toiled for a time but wasn’t idle as he released a trio of critically acclaimed mixtapes bearing the same name of his album. Finally Famous is also the official first release under the new partnership between G.O.O.D. Music and Island Def Jam.
With production largely helmed by Kanye West’s mentor Chicago veteran producer No I.D., Big Sean is in pretty good company on his feature heavy record. The album’s first single “My Last” features R&B crooner and friend Chris Brown and recieving massive airplay while the second single “I Do It” is slowly climbing its way up the charts. A reported third single “Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay” features his G.O.O.D. Music boss Kanye and Roscoe Dash on the hook. Sean has received rave reviews over the track since it was leaked to the web over three weeks ago where it was a trending topic for three straight days. Famous also features artists Wiz Khalifa, Chiddy Bang, Pharrell and John Legend all adding to a star-studded roster.
Fans on Twitter have tweeted their support of Sean’s latest venture, with most claiming they would purchase a copy of the release June 28th. Along with the anticipation of the record and his label’s power moves, Big Sean looks to achieve the fame he’s been seeking since high school when he began his craft.
