What Is Your #Latter Network?

When you are young you are surrounded by an amazing talent pool seemingly at all times. From school to little league to family BBQ’s and get -togethers, there is always someone around to chop it up with, bounce ideas off and get inspired.

As kids you always like to dream big. You put yourself in the shoes of Michael Jordan, or Peyton Manning.

As you get older this same mentality can be applied to your business and your life. This was really apparent at the GenJuice event held on the Berkeley Campus last weekend. A large group of (mostly) strangers came together and made an inspiring event that put together teamwork, ideas, conversation, disagreements and smiles all in one room.

I was lucky that I happened to be in the room with such inspiring people. The way I look at it is that the people you surround yourself with are the people that help shape your life.

Surround yourself with people that are negative and choose procrastination or mindlessness, and you pick up on that mentality quickly.

On the opposite side you have the overachievers, the ones that stay in learning, absorbing the things around them that cause them to grow both intellectually and personally.

For me, its a mix of both worlds. I love a cold beer after grinding hard for hours on end to launch a new product.

At no time in history do you have an advantage like you do today. The world is open for you to find the people that you want to associate yourself with. From physical networking events like GenJuice, to communities like Brazen Careerist, sites like Under30CEO and just browsing Twitter, Blogs and Facebook groups, you get to choose the people and the things that influence you.

At the end of the day, the choice os yours. Will you choose the latter?
